My living room is no longer the gymnasium. It's now called the museum. They (the kids) are allowed to sit on the carpet, but never on the couch, sitting on which requires clean clothes and a high school diploma. So far, so good, except Andrew sometimes disregards the rules.

Andrew Rides a Bike

We were definitely surprised by Matthew learning to ride his bike at 5, but Andrew getting it done at age 3 takes the cake. Our idea for getting Andrew a small bike stemmed from him frequently wanting to ride his brother's bikes which are way too big for him. Doing a little yard sale shopping, we spotted a sweet little hot wheels bike (and a skate board for Matthew). After adding air to the tires, with a little help, and a few crashes Andrew was up and cycling on his own.

First Post: Matthew Rides a Bike

John removed the training wheels from Matthew's bicycle and took the boy and his bike across the street to our park area. Matthew, who has ridden his bicycle WITH training wheels all of five times, was on his own within ten minutes. I didn't realize five year olds learn to ride so quickly, and hadn't brought a camera; so we went out the next night and to get some pictures.
